Hello! My name is Casey Cano and I am an 11 year old 6th grader from Surprise, Arizona. I have recently been selected to represent Canyon Ridge Elementary School and the State of Arizona at the 2007 Junior National Young Leaders Conference this fall in Washington D.C. I was nominated by Ms. Shelagh Colledge, who recognized my qualities as an outstanding individual that has not only achieved academic excellence, but has demonstrated strong leadership potential. I have consistently maintained a 4.0 GPA and have been named to the Principals List for the entire 2006-2007 school year. I play an active role in the Cougar Country News, which is the school CCTV news network. I am active in my community, active in sports and love to dance! I am very proud to have been selected and am grateful for the opportunity to participate in such an honorable and prestigious gathering of high achieving students and prominent leaders of our country. In order to make this once in a lifetime opportunity possible, I must raise $2519 by November 3rd, 2007 to help cover the costs of tuition and transportation to and from Washington D.C. To help raise the necessary funds needed for me to attend the JrNYLC, we have initiated an intense fundraising campaign and have been working really hard. We are also reaching out to local businesses and the community for support. We have organized a raffle to help us meet our goal. Chances to win require a $5 donation (or 5 chances for $20). The Grand Prize is a state-of-the-art 26" Widescreen LCD Flat Panel HDTV ! There will be many other great prizes, so your chances to win are great! You would be donating to a great cause, and could win some great prizes in the process! All sponsors of $50 or more will be recognized on this website.
